Policy Forum & Federal Career Fair


The International Leadership Foundation (ILF) hosted its annual Policy Forum & Federal Career Fair for emerging leaders on July 25. Over 50 total attendees attended including the 2018 ILF Civic Fellows, recruiters from multiple federal agencies, and aspiring career-seekers in the local Washington Metropolitan area. The event began with a Policy Forum led by the ILF Fellows. One of their ongoing summer assignments was to research, brainstorm solutions, and present on different public policy interests. The 23 Fellows were divided into 6 groups with topics covering: environment, immigration, education, diversity and inclusion, business and international commerce, and health. After the conclusion of the Policy Forum, the Federal Career Fair began with representation from 7 federal agencies. The Office of Minority Health, the Office of Management and Budget – Executive Office of the President, the Government Accountability Office, the U.S. Secret Service, the Office of Human Resources, DOI, the NRCS – Department of Agriculture, and the NOAA, Department of Commerce each presented information about their offices. Attendees had the opportunity to meet with recruiters individually at their tables during the Federal Career Fair. ILF appreciates all federal partners in their continued support of the ILF Civic Fellowship Program and the Policy Forum & Federal Career Fair.
