The International Leadership Foundation (ILF) Los Angeles Advisory Board hosted its inauguration on Saturday, March 7, 2015. The event included the chapter’s annual Youth Training, VIP reception, and luncheon with Asian Pacific American (APA) political, community, and business leaders.

ILF Fellow alumni reunited in Downtown Los Angeles the night before the luncheon. Happy Friday! Thanks to Edward Chen (2002), Jonathan Lee (2012), Janet Guan (2012), Kathleen Ju (2009), Tar Rakhra (2014), Belinda Li (2014), and Charelene Yang (2014).
Mr. Than Nguyen, ILF board member based in California, received The President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA). It was presented by Congresswoman Judy Chu and Ms. Chiling Tong, CEO of ILF. PVSA is “the premier volunteer awards program, encouraging citizens to live a life of service through presidential gratitude and national recognition.”
Mr. John Chiang, Treasurer of California, was invited to the luncheon as a keynote speaker. He has been a great supporter of ILF and its LA Advisory Board for many years.
ILF LA Chapter contributed enormously to cultivating the next generation of APA leaders. All contributions will benefit ILF scholarships for APA students. Congresswoman Judy Chu presented the Certificate of Congressional Recognition to ILF LA Chapter.
ILF was excited to have many fellow alumni at the event this year. 2013 Fellow Jacqueline Jin (currently working at the U.S. Departement of State) and 2014 Fellow Tar Rakhra (interned at the White House Initiative on Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders) served as Masters of Ceremonies at the event.
2004 Fellow Ma’Ayn Jonson, a senior planner for Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG), provided a testimonial on the ILF Civic Fellowship Program. Read more about her expertise and community involvement.
Jonathan Lee, former Media Director/Fellowship Coordinator of ILF, making his testimonial on how ILF has impacted his life. He is the Founder of RapidCycle and is one of the rising young entrepreneurs in the area.
2006 Fellow Erica Lee (right) founded the sponsorshipping-llc. She provided a testimonial on how she learned about leadership through the ILF Civic Fellowship program and has developed her entrepreneurial spirit since then.

ILF LA Chapter annualy hosted its unique leadership training for local high school students who have leadership potentials. The training was orgnized and led by the Leadership Education for Asian Pacifics, Inc. (LEAP) and their President and CEO, Mrs. Linda Akutagawa.
