ILF Celebrates 2015 Achievements of DC Advisors
Washington, D.C. – Founded in 2000, the International Leadership Foundation (ILF) has promoted the civic awareness, public service, and economic prosperity of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community as a non-profit organization. This year, we want to celebrate many members of the ILF Leadership on their exemplary achievements. From our local DC Chapter, we want to recognize Chiling Tong, Jeff Hwang, Corinna Shen, and Rose Li.
In recognition of her dedication to serving the community through the International Leadership Foundation (ILF), Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) appointed Ms. Chiling Tong, Founder and CEO of ILF, to the Board of Directors of the U.S. Congress Congressional Award for young leaders. She joins the ranks of over 40 accomplished Americans from across the United States, some of whom are Members of Congress. In addition to this honor, Maryland Governor Hogan also appointed Ms. Tong to Maryland’s Commission on AAPIs, where she will serve as a liaison between the State government and the AAPI community.

Jeff G. Hwang, ILF DC Advisory Chair and Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Pyramid Systems, Inc. (Pyramid), a full-service IT consulting and software engineering firm operating in the government and commercial markets, was honored with the 2015 Distinguished Alumni Award from Georgia State University. Under Mr. Hwang’s leadership, Pyramid has been recognized in Deloitte’s Fast 50 and Technology Fast 500 listings. Pyramid has grown into a global enterprise with 2009 revenues of approximately $14USD million.
Due to her outstanding civic leadership and community involvement, Governor Hogan recently appointed Corinna Shen to Maryland’s Commission for Women. In addition to serving as ILF’s Director of Public Relations, Corinna is a board member of the Washington D.C. Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce as well as Director of Communications at Pharmco International. Corinna also serves as an advisor at the Center for Asia America Cultural and Educational Exchanges (CAACEE) and the Chinese Culture and Community Service Center (CCACC).
Governor Hogan also appointed Rose Li, an ILF DC advisor, to Maryland’s Commission on Aging. The Commission on Aging provides statewide leadership on diverse senior issues and advocates for practical solutions. Rose Li is President and CEO of Rose Li and Associates, Inc., specializing in science management and research administration. Prior to founding RLA in 2003, Dr. Li held leadership positions at the National Institutes of Health, including Special Assistant for Policy Development with the NIH Office of Communications and Public Liaison and the Chief of the Population and Social Processes Branch in the Behavioral and Social Research Division of the National Institute on Aging.
