2024 Summer ILF Civic Fellowship Program – Now Accepting Applications!

The International Leadership Foundation (ILF) is now accepting applications for the Summer 2024 Civic Fellowship Program. We encourage undergraduate students of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and/or Pacific Islanders heritage to consider applying for the opportunity to work  at a federal agency, the U.S. Congress, or a nonprofit organization/think tank. Students may also secure their own non-paid public service internship and apply to the Civic Fellowship Program as a scholarship.

In addition to their federal internships, Civic Fellows attend professional development workshops, speaker series and leadership training programs. ILF staff will also mentor and coach students throughout their internship program.

“One of ILF’s goals is to prepare and advocate for the next generation of leaders in public service,” shared Chairman of ILF Dr. Paul Hsu. “It is so important to increase exposure and understanding of civic engagement so that young leaders can take action to support their communities in relevant ways.”

Based on the interests and majors of selected Civic Fellowship candidates, ILF helps place fellows in public service internships as well as supports those who have already secured a non-paid internship. ILF has previously placed fellows with the U.S. Dept. of Treasury, U.S. Agency for International Development, Minority Business Development Agency, EXIM Bank, National Institute of Health, the White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders, Federal Aviation Administration, U.S. Dept. of Labor, U.S. Small Business Administration, Hudson Institute, and several Congressional and Senate offices. We welcome and encourage current undergraduate students of all majors.

Application Deadline: All required application materials must be received by Friday, January 5, 2024 (5:00pm ET). *Please be mindful of this deadline due to school closure and the holiday break to obtain transcripts and recommendations.

Fellows will receive a stipend between $2,500 – $5,000 upon successful completion of the Civic Fellowship Program. If fellows do not receive a stipend from federal agencies, ILF will guarantee a stipend of $2,500.

If you have any questions, please reach out to us at fellow@ileader.org.
