On a beautiful Friday evening, fellow ILFers gathered at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial to begin a night full of history and fun facts. The group continued to seven other sites: the Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial, Thomas Jefferson Memorial, Washington Monument, World War II Memorial, Vietnam War Memorial, Korean War Memorial, and Lincoln Memorial. As dusk approached, the group witnessed a change of landscape and enjoyed an ambient sunset as we walked down the mall. The tour concluded on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial just past 10:30pm with the evening sky providing the perfect scene to appreciate the evening lighting of the memorials and monument.
