APAPA Leadership Retreat and Voters Education

ILF was in Sacramento last weekend to attend the APAPA 2015 Leadership Retreat as leaders from the APAPA DC Chapter. Over the course of 3 days, APAPA chapter leaders from all of the country discussed topics ranging from political empowerment to fundraising and program development.

In addition to the Leadership Retreat, ILF also attended APAPA’s 14th annual Voters Education & Candidates Forum. ILF was one of the sponsors of the event. Held at California State University Sacramento, the forum had 3 panels discussing how to get involved in public service, insights from people who have broken new barriers running for office, and how to accelerate our movement forward. The panels featured California State Treasurer, John Chiang; Congressman Ted Lieu; Assemblymember Ling-ling Chang; and many other prominent politicians from California. At the end of the Voters Education &Candidates Forum, Chiling Tong and CA Treasure, John Chiang, presented the Presidential Volunteer Service Award to APAPA chairs, Hsing Kung and Ken Fong.
